The CRH1E is the first high-speed 16-car sleeper train (10M6T) in the world which is based on Bombardier's ZEFIRO 250 km/h (155 mph) design.

The head shape resembled similar to the CRH1A-A, which also belongs to the Bombardier ZEFIRO platform.
