Chinati Foundation

As Judd wrote in the foundation's first catalogue in 1987:[2][citation needed] It takes a great deal of time and thought to install work carefully.

In addition to the permanent collection, regular temporary exhibitions feature modern and contemporary art of diverse media.

In October 2013 the foundation finalized plans for untitled (dawn to dusk), a 930 m2 (10,000 sq ft), C-shaped concrete structure by Robert Irwin,[5] to join Chinati's permanent collection.

[6] Opened in July 2016,[7] this installation utilizes Fort D. A. Russell's ruined former hospital, rebuilding the structure within its original footprint while incorporating several architectural interventions to modify the building's dynamics of light and space.
