Chris Evans (born 1968) is a British journalist and the editor of The Daily Telegraph since 2014.
[3] Since 2024, Evans serves as Chairman of the IPSO Editors' Code of Practice Committee.
[4] Born and raised at Walsall, Staffordshire,[5] Evans was educated at King Edward's School in Birmingham[2] before going up to read English at Brasenose College, Oxford.
[9] In 2023 Viscount Rothermere tried unsuccessfully to poach Evans for the editorship of The Daily Mail.
[10] On 3 January 2024 Evans was appointed by IPSO as Chairman of its Editors' Code of Practice Committee,[11] having served as a lay member since 2022.
