The production is split into half real life and half fiction, with a series of monologues written by the BAFTA winning screenwriter, Danny Brocklehurst and starring Ade Edmondson, Meera Syal, David Morrissey, Monica Dolan and Ian Hart.

On 10 May 2015, Warburton presented coverage from the Service of Thanksgiving to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day, live from Westminster Abbey.
