His father, August Coppola, was a professor of literature, while his mother, Joy Vogelsang, was a dancer and choreographer.
[1] Coppola studied music composition at the University of Redlands from 1979 to 1980; he also attended San Francisco Art Institute, earning a BFA in film in 1985.
[2] Coppola began filmmaking at an early age and has directed eight feature films and a number of television shows.
In 2006, Coppola launched the digital film festival PAH-FEST (Project Accessible Hollywood) in New Mexico.
Coppola's CRC Productions is also developing and producing content for alternative distribution and interactive platforms.
