Chung Soon-yeong

Chung Soon-yeong (Korean: 정순영; born February 21, 1959) is a mathematics professor in the Department of Mathematics and Convergence Biomedical Engineering at Sogang University.

Entering Seoul National University in 1978, he majored in mathematics with an emphasis on partial differential equations for his PhD.

[5] From 2000, he held other positions at Sogang, including head of the Department of Mathematics, director of the Research Institute for Basic Science,[6] dean of academic affairs, director of the Teaching and Learning Center,[7][8] dean of the College of Natural Science.

[9] His service to the Korean Mathematical Society included director of the 42nd Math Olympiad,[10] organizer,[11] editing executive director,[12] and vice president.

[13] For a two-year term starting in 2007, he headed the Mathematical Sciences Division at the National Research Foundation of Korea.
