Ciarán Devane

Sir Ciarán Gearoid Devane FRSA (born 25 October 1962) is the executive director of the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations (CTPSR) and associate pro-vice-chancellor for international relations at Coventry University (appointed April 2021).

Previously he was chief executive of the British Council (appointed January 2015).

[1][2] Devane was educated at University College Dublin, where he read for a BEng in biochemical engineering.

[citation needed] Devane worked as chief executive at Macmillan Cancer Support from 2007 to 2014.

[5] Devane was knighted in the 2015 Birthday Honours for services to cancer patients.
