[2] On May 18, 2021, the township voted 72%-25% to create a Home Rule Government Study Commission, the first step to incorporating the township as either a borough or city.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 19.8 square miles (51 km2), all land.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 168 people, 66 households, and 52 families residing in the township.

18.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 7.7% of families and 11.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.9% of those under the age of eighteen and 8.8% of those sixty five or over.
