Clare Jackson

Janet Clare Louise Jackson (born 1972) is a British historian and academic, specialising in early modern Britain.

She was senior tutor of Trinity Hall, Cambridge from 2013 to 2023, and is now Walter Grant Scott Fellow in History and Honorary Professor of Early Modern History.

[1][2] In 2022, she was awarded the Wolfson Prize for Devil-Land: England Under Siege, 1588-1688.

[3][4] Jackson was educated in Edinburgh, Scotland.

[2] She studied history at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge (BA), then undertook a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree at in history at the University of Aberystwyth, before returning to Cambridge for her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
