Peter Marshall FRHistS FBA (born 26 October 1964) is a Scottish historian and academic, known for his work on the Reformation and its impact on the British Isles and Europe.
[2][3] He was educated at Kirkwall Grammar School, before studying at University College, Oxford.
[2] His doctoral thesis was titled Attitudes of the English People to Priests and Priesthood, 1500–1553.
[2][5] Between 2023 and 2024 Marshall served as President of the Ecclesiastical History Society.
[9] He is also an elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS).
