Claudiana Ayo Cole is a Gambian politician, civil servant and educationalist who is the current Minister of Basic and Secondary Education in President Adama Barrow's cabinet.
Cole was the recipient of a Commonwealth Scholarship to study a Master of Education degree at Newcastle University.
[2] In November 2015, she visited the Nasir Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School and ordered it to be temporarily closed after members of the 'Green Youth' occupied it.
[3] Speaking in July 2016, she said that education "is about giving a person or a group of people the power and status in society.
"[4] On 22 February 2017, newly elected President of the Gambia Adama Barrow appointed Cole as Minister of Basic and Secondary Education.
