As of the 2000 census,[7] there were 2,779 people, 1,043 households, and 790 families residing in the township.

There were 1,075 housing units at an average density of 45.1 per square mile (17.4/km2).

19.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
