Colleen Ann Sheehan (born January 7, 1956) is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
[6] A member of the Republican Party, she was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and served for a two-year term, beginning in 1995.
In January 1995, she voted in favor of "a tough Republican plan" to "reduce benefits to many people on welfare," according to The Philadelphia Inquirer, that was designed to "deny automatic cash grant increases for welfare mothers who [had] more babies," and "would eliminate general assistance to able-bodied people ages 18 to 25.
"[8] In October of that same year, she voted against the House's approval of an eighteen percent pay raise for members of the Pennsylvania House and Senate, a successful bill that made "Pennsylvania public servants among the best paid in the nation" at that time.
[9][6] Unsuccessful in her reelection bid for the House, she initially refused to concede after losing the close race by more than five hundred votes.
