It became fully operational in October 2011[5] and is expected to generate 750 GWh per year on average over the 30-year life of the project.

In March 2010, Collgar Wind Farm Pty Ltd was sold to UBS International Infrastructure Fund and Retail Employees Superannuation Trust and in June 2019, Retail Employees Superannuation Trust became the sole shareholder.
[6] Construction began in June 2010, the wind farm was connected to the grid in April 2011,[1] and the first 50 turbines started operation in May 2011.
