The unincorporated community of Bachmanville is in the northeastern part of the township, and Deodate is near the center.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 16.7 square miles (43.3 km2), all land.

There were 1,069 housing units at an average density of 63.9 per square mile (24.7/km2).
