Conostylis wonganensis

Conostylis wonganensis is a rhizomatous, tufted, perennial grass-like plant or herb that typically grows to a height of up to 8–17 cm (3.1–6.7 in).

[1][2][3] Conostylis wonganensis was first formally described in 1982 Stephen Hopper in the journal Nuytsia from specimens collected 4.4 km (2.7 mi) north-west of Wongan Hills.

[4] The specific epithet refers to its restricted occurrence near Wongan Hills.

It grows in yellow sand on gradual slopes in heath with emergent mallees.

[5] This species of conostylis is listed as "endangered" under the Australian Government Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999,[5] and as "Threatened" by the Western Australian Government Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions,[1] meaning that it is in danger of extinction.
