Located on Oneida Lake, the community lies along State Route 49 and Scriba Creek.

The Trinity Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 1,107 people, 436 households, and 303 families residing in the CDP.

There were 560 housing units at an average density of 262.5 per square mile (101.4/km2).

23.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
