It is located in Brockworth and Upton St Leonards, between the city of Gloucester and the town of Cheltenham.

The estate is on redeveloped land that was the former Gloster Aircraft Company factory and airfield.

[7] Despite its location, the estate is split between the Tewkesbury and Stroud council areas.

The area is served by Stagecoach West, with direct buses to Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucester.

The neighbourhood also has a sports centre, home to Barnwood United Football Club, which was which was completed in 2021, however was not opened until February 2024 due to issues with the Section 106 agreement between the developers and Tewkesbury Borough Council, and lack of interest from local groups to manage the facilities.
