Corneliu Ion (born 27 June 1951) is a Romanian retired shooter who specialized in the 25 meter rapid fire pistol event.
He competed at the 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988 Olympics and won a gold medal in 1980 and a silver in 1984, placing fifth in 1976.
[1] In 1984 he served as the flag bearer for Romania at the opening ceremony.
[2] Ion graduated from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and from the International School of Shooting Trainers in Wiesbaden in 1989.
In parallel, between 1990 and 2001 he served as president of the Romanian Shooting Federation.
