Costas J. Clerides (born 1952) is a former attorney general of Cyprus having served between 2013 – 2020.
[1] Costas Clerides was born in 1952 in Nicosia, and educated at the Pancyprian Gymnasium until 1970.
[3] Clerides served as an officer in the Cyprus National Guard for two years, before reading law in London, where he was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple.
[2] Clerides practiced law for 10 years as a partner in the law firm Lefkos Clerides and Sons.
On 27 April 2009, he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Cyprus and retired on 10 September 2013 when he was appointed as Attorney General of the Republic.
