Council of States (South Sudan)

Independents (9) The Transitional Council of States is the upper house of the National Legislature of South Sudan.

It was established in 2011 by the interim constitution of South Sudan 2011.

[1] The Council of States exercises the following functions:[2] Before 2021, the Council of States comprised all South Sudanese who were members of the Council of States of Sudan; and twenty representatives appointed by the President of South Sudan.

The Council of States was dissolved in May 2021,[3] and a transitional council was reconstituted comprising 100 members appointed by Salva Kiir.
