CrossCurrents is a quarterly academic journal currently published by the Association for Public Religion and Intellectual Life (APRIL)[1].
The journal began with the vision of Joseph Cunneen, a Catholic soldier in General Patton's army.
Taking advantage of the GI Bill after WWII, Cunneen wanted to bring European religious thinking to the United States.
According to the journal's instructions for authors on the Wiley website, "CrossCurrents connects the wisdom of the heart with the life of the mind and the experiences of the body.
The journal is operated through its parent organization, the Association for Public Religion and Intellectual Life (APRIL), an interreligious network of academics, activists, artists, and community leaders seeking to engage the many ways religion meets the public.
