Cyrus Amir-Mokri (Persian: سیروس امیرمکری) was the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Treasury Department.
He also served as the agency's deputy representative to the Financial Stability Oversight Council and as liaison for inter-agency affairs.
Amir-Mokri's previous experience in government was to serve as law clerk to Bruce M. Selya of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Before serving in government, Mr. Amir-Mokri was a partner at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, resident in its New York City office.
Amir-Mokri is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which is awarded for outstanding contributions by immigrants to the United States.
