Coming out of high school, Horne decided to commit to play college basketball for the Illinois State Redbirds.
[1] On December 31, 2019, Horne scored a career high 22 points while also notching five steals as he helped the Redbirds beat Northern Iowa.
[3] For his performance in his freshman season, Horne was named to the Missouri Valley Conference all-freshman team.
[17] On January 16, 2024, Horne scored 21 points in a win over Wake Forest, but was surrounded in controversy after being seen giving the opposing players the middle finger.
[18] On February 10, 2024, Horne scored 31 points while knocking down four threes but NC State would fall to Wake Forest 83–79.
