Daniel DeVerl "Malano" Seum (/ˈsaɪm/ SYME; born January 28, 1940) is an American politician.
He was a member of the Kentucky Senate, representing the 38th district from 1995 to 2019.
[1] Seum began his career as a member of the Democratic party.
He was first elected to the state house in 1981, defeating incumbent Republican Dexter Wright.
Seum continued in the house until he was elected to the senate in 1988, defeating incumbent Democratic senator Larry Saunders for renomination.
