Daniel Peretz (Hebrew: דניאל פרץ, /ˈdɑːˈnɪɛl ˈpɛrɛ/ t̻͡s̪; born 10 July 2000) is an Israeli footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Israel national team.
[21][22] On 18 August 2022, Peretz was praised for his performance that managed to keep a clean sheet in their 2022–23 UEFA Conference League Play-offs first leg against French side Nice, helping his team to a 1–0 home victory.
[23][24] On 25 August 2023, Peretz joined German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich signing a five-year contract until 30 June 2028,[10] for a reported initial transfer fee of over €5 million;[25] receiving the number 18 jersey.
[26][10] He is the first Israeli Jew to play for this German side,[10] even though the club has had strong Jewish roots and count among their 17 founders Benno Elkan,[9][27][10] since Bayern Munich's inception in the early 1900's.
[30] On 4 December 2024, Peretz would play his first match of the 2024–25 season for Bayern Munich's first team against Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16 of the DFB-Pokal.
[40] This secured a spot for his national team in the semi-finals, where they met eventual champions England,[41] although Peretz had to miss it due to suspension for accumulation of a yellow card in each of his two recent matches.
