The Darlings of Chelsea sound has been compared to The Rolling Stones,[4][5] The Hellacopters[4][5] and Led Zeppelin.

[5] Often referred to as veterans of the Canadian punk/rock scene,[6] their members have played in other bands: The Black Halos[3][7] (Jay Millette), Robin Black[3][7] (Robby Ruckus), Kïll Cheerleadër[8] (Chris "Jimmy" Nova), Scratching Post, The Parkas,[7] and CJ Sleez.

[9] Their debut EP The Mimico Sessions, was released domestically on North Ruckus[10] and in the US on distributor Ribotto[11] June 26, 2009.

It was named "Top 5 Album of the Year" and "Best New Band of 2009" by Mass Movement Magazine.
