He played collegiately at Dakota State University where he helped the Trojans win the Boot Hill Bowl in 1971, becoming the first collegiate team from South Dakota to ever win a postseason bowl game.
[2] He also helped lead the Trojans to their first ever conference championship in 1973.
[3] He would be named an NAIA All-American in 1972 and would earn All-SDIC honors in 1972 and 1973.
[4][5] He was also a member of the Dakota State Trojans track and field team.
[9] Robinson spent two years with the Redskins before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 1976.
