Shore retired at the end of the season and became a full-time head coach with the expansion Lehigh Valley Steam.
In 2000, the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer hired Shore as the team's goalkeeper coach.
In 2010, he was named head coach of Miami FC in the USSF Division 2 Professional League.
In 2011 the team changed its name to Fort Lauderdale Strikers and its affiliation to the North American Soccer League.
