Felinton graduated with Cum Laude from Marshall University in 1999,[1] receiving a Bachelor of Arts in political science.

[15] A few months later in August, Felinton is elected as the West Virginia Municipal League’s President for the 2008-2009 term.
[16] In 2010, Felinton filed to run for the 15th district in the West Virginia House of Delegates, but two months before the election he terminated his campaign.
