He is Professor of Mycology and Director of the Fusarium Research Center at Pennsylvania State University.
[1] He then went on to complete his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Georgia in 1995 under the direction of William Timberlake and Michael L.
[1][2] His thesis was entitled "Population genetic, chromosomal, and phylogenetic patterns associated with meiosis in Aspergillus.
[2] He then went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship from 1995 to 1998 at the University of California, Berkeley.
