David M. Stanley

David Maxwell Stanley (September 9, 1928 – August 26, 2015) was an American politician in the state of Iowa.

[1] Stanley worked as the Iowa field director for the United World Federalists.

[1] Stanley served in the Iowa State Legislature from 1959 to 1969, when he resigned to run against Fred Schwengel.

[1][3] In 1974, Stanley ran to fill Harold E. Hughes senate seat but narrowly lost to John Culver.

[4] Stanley also helped create Iowans for Tax Relief and served as its chairman for a time.
