David Smith Monson (born June 20, 1945) is an American politician and former U.S. Representative and the second lieutenant governor of Utah.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Monson attended public schools.

[2] In 1984, Monson ran for the United States House of Representatives for the Ninety-ninth Congress.

[4] He was not a candidate for reelection in 1986, ending his political career on January 3, 1987 after serving only one term as a representative.
