David Taylor is an American former basketball player known for his college career at Hofstra University.
[2] In the summer of 1978, after his high school graduation, he spent 10 days in Pensacola and took four classes, but then decided he did not want to stay.
[2] The NCAA classified that move as a transfer, so Taylor was forced to redshirt (sit out) his true freshman season of 1978–79.
[3][4] During Taylor's four-year college career, he scored 1,818 points and grabbed 926 rebounds, which were fourth and third all-time in school history, respectively, at the time of his graduation.
[5] He was twice named First Team All-ECC as a junior and senior, and in 1982–83 was honored as the ECC Player of the Year.
