David Laing (20 February 1925 – 15 July 2017) was a Scottish professional footballer.
Laing played for Hearts for eight years and represented the Scottish League XI while there in 1952.
[1] His last game for the club was on 4 September 1954 in a 3–2 home victory against Celtic; He left Hearts a day later.
Laing missed out as Hearts won their breakthrough trophy of the Tommy Walker era, the Scottish League Cup in 1954.
Laing is generally accepted to have been man of the match in both the first game of the final and its replay.
