Dawn McCafferty

She retired in July 2020 and was succeeded by Gp Capt John Lawlor as Acting Commandant.

[1] McCafferty, who was born in the Rhondda South Wales, and later lived in Wigston Magna, joined the RAF at the age of 19 for a four-year short service commission as a secretarial officer.

After leaving the RAF in 2006, McCafferty set up and ran the Royal Air Force Families Federation from its inception in 2007 until 2012.
