The film is written and directed by Scott Cooper, based on Warren Zanes' 2023 book, and stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen.
The film will follow Bruce Springsteen on his journey to make his sixth album, a departure from his previous work and one representing the Boss at his most stripped-down and personal.
This was a few years before he and his E Street Band became a phenomenon with Born in the U.S.A.[1] The project was first announced in March 2024, with Bruce Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau said to be actively involved with it.
[2][3][4] However, it was later revealed 20th Century Studios had acquired the film in a heated bidding war with A24, joining the project as financier and distributor.
[7] In September, Stephen Graham joined the cast as Bruce's father Douglas Springsteen,[8] while Harrison Gilbertson and Johnny Cannizzaro were added the following month.
