A deliverable is a tangible or intangible good or service produced as a result of a project that is intended to be delivered to a customer (either internal or external).
[1][2] A deliverable could be a report, a document, a software product, a server upgrade or any other building block of an overall project.
[4] In this way many time-savings are possible, shortening greatly the whole project final supply term.
A deliverable differs from a project milestone in that a milestone is a measurement of progress toward an output, whereas the deliverable is the output delivered to a customer or sponsor.
In technical projects, deliverables can be further classified as hardware, software, or design documents.
