Damonte Ranch

The Damonte Ranch is part of a master plan of 2,000 acres (810 ha) developed into a community of homes and industrial parks.

[2] The developers of the Damonte Ranch are involved in turning 10 million square feet ag land into of office, retail and industrial properties and over 100,000 single and multi-family homes.

Irrigation was important throughout the ranch's history for raising of wheat, oats, barley, corn and hay, and grazing cattle.

Today's water system for Damonte Ranch is taken care of through a wholesale agreement between Washoe County and Sierra Pacific.

Northern Nevada is a migratory path of harlequin duck, cackling goose, red-necked grebe, and medium-sized diurnal birds of prey, white-tailed kite, broad-winged hawk.
