Denezy

Denezy is a former municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

[2] Denezy had an area, as of 2009[update], of 3.8 square kilometers (1.5 sq mi).

Of the rest of the land, 0.2 km2 (0.077 sq mi) or 5.3% is settled (buildings or roads).

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Azure, a Saltire Argent, a Buck statant Gules overall.

[8] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (112 or 91.8%), with German being second most common (7 or 5.7%) and Italian being third (1 or 0.8%).

[7] The age distribution, as of 2009[update], in Denezy is; 11 children or 7.7% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old and 11 teenagers or 7.7% are between 10 and 19.

[13] In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the SVP which received 32.07% of the vote.

In the federal election, a total of 52 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 50.0%.

[8] There were 56 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 46.4% of the workforce.

In the tertiary sector; 2 or 28.6% were in wholesale or retail sales or the repair of motor vehicles, 4 or 57.1% were in the information industry, 2 or 28.6% were in education.

[8] From the 2000 census[update], 20 or 16.4% were Roman Catholic, while 80 or 65.6% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.

In the Vaud cantonal school system, two years of non-obligatory pre-school are provided by the political districts.

[17] During the school year, the political district provided pre-school care for a total of 296 children of which 96 children (32.4%) received subsidized pre-school care.

The canton's primary school program requires students to attend for four years.
