Denis W. Stairs OC FRSC is professor emeritus in political science at Dalhousie University.
[1] Stairs joined Dalhousie’s Department of Political Science in 1966, and was the founding director of its Centre for Foreign Policy Studies from 1970 to 1975.
[2] He was appointed to the board of visitors of the Canadian Forces College upon its creation in 2002, he was its chair from 2006 to 2009.
[6] Stairs is a two-time recipient of the Marcel Cadieux Distinguished Writing Award.
[1] In 2004 he received a Distinguished Scholar Award from the International Studies Association[1] and in 2006 he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
