Detroit is a town in Red River County, Texas, United States.
John Nance Garner, 32nd Vice President of the United States, was born outside of Detroit but lived most of his life in Uvalde, on the southern rim of the Texas Hill Country.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km2), all land.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 704 people, 283 households, and 192 families residing in the town.
29.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
