Deutzia gracilis

It is a deciduous shrub with opposite, simple leaves, and slender, arching stems.

It is a broad, upright, bushy and finely branched shrub up to 1.5 meters high.

The leaf blade is light green, simple, lanceolate, oval-lanceolate or broadly ovate-lanceolate, 3 to 4.5 inches long and 1 to 1.2 inches wide, pointed long, with a wedge-shaped base and finely serrated edge.

The calyx lobes are 1.5 centimeters long, ovate to ovate-triangular, glabrous or loosely hairy.

The natural range is on the Japanese islands of Honshū, Kyushu and Shikoku and on Taiwan.
