He is a member of the National Assembly for the Progressive Reform Party (VHP).

[3] Sharman was born on 20 February 1965 in the rural village of Paradise, Suriname.

After graduating from high school, he went to the boarding school Zaailand Internaat in Paramaribo,[4] and graduated from the Anton de Kom University as a medical doctor at the primary health level.

[5] Sharman started to work at the Regional Health Service (RGD).
