D. Srinivas (politician)

In the 2014 elections, he contested from Nizamabad rural assembly constituency but lost to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Bajireddy Goverdhan.

On 2 July 2015, he joined TRS and was made government adviser by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

After suffering from illness for some time, Srinivas died from a heart attack in Hyderabad, on 29 June 2024, at the age of 75.

His ministerial portfolios included: D. Srinivas served as the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) during the 2004 and 2009 elections, leading the Indian National Congress (INC) to major victories: [13] [14] His leadership was instrumental in securing victories that contributed to the formation of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre for two consecutive terms (2004–2014).

Additionally, he led the INC to victory in the Andhra Pradesh state assembly elections twice, ending the nine-year rule of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
