Nicknamed “Anna”, Cheralathan led Patna Pirates to the Pro Kabaddi league in Season 4.

Cheralathan's brother, D. Gopu, has also played in the Pro Kabaddi league and was a defender for Tamil Thalaivas in Season 6.
