Diane Brand

Diane Joy Brand is a New Zealand architecture academic.

[1] After a BArch at Auckland in 1979[2] and practising professionally, Brand did a post-professional master's of architecture in urban design at Harvard.

[3] Returning to Auckland for a PhD, her 2001 doctoral thesis was titled Southern crossings: colonial urban design in Australia and New Zealand.

[4] She subsequently entered academia, working at both Victoria University of Wellington[5] (rising to full professor in 2011[6]) and then back to the University of Auckland.

Brand is a member of both the New Zealand Institute of Architects and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and has been involved with CERA, rebuilding Christchurch after the earthquakes.
