Dmitriy G. Stankevich

Winner of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in Science and Technology (1986).

He worked at the Institute for Radiophysics and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR on the development of software and hardware for digital processing of astronomical and space images.

He continued his research on processing of astronomical and space images, and worked on the issues of light scattering by surfaces of celestial bodies.

In 1989[3] he defended his PhD thesis "Investigation of the surface of Venus by digital image processing methods".

[4] Since 2001, Stankevich has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Astronomy at the School of Physics of Kharkiv University.
