Dominican University Ibadan

It was established to provide quality education to residents of the Oyo State metropolis and Nigeria beyond.

[3] The Dominican University Ibadan was established in 2016 by the Order of Preachers (Dominican Order of the province of St. Joseph the Worker, Nigeria and Ghana) under the Catholic Higher Education to be an institution of higher learning in Nigeria.

[4][5] It was licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 22 November 2016 through a letter addressed to the then Vice Chancellor, Prof. Anthony Akinwale.

The event was graced by the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party Nigeria, Mr Peter Obi who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the university.

Governor Seyi Makinde, the Ooni of Ife and the Olubadan of Ibadan were in attendance at the ceremony.
