Doris Chambers

Doris Elaine Chambers (20 November 1884 – 24 December 1983) was an English amateur golfer.

Chambers first reached the later stages of the Womens Amateur Championship in 1909 at Birkdale.

[9][10] In 1926 she lost at the last-16 of the women's championship for the third successive year and reached the semi-finals of the English championship, losing again to Molly Gourlay, this time at the 19th hole when Gourlay holed out from 20 yards.

[13][14] Chambers competed for England in the Women's Home Internationals each year from 1906 to 1912, except for 1908 when she was ill. She was also ill for the 1913 matches and was left out of the team in 1914.

[15] In late 1933 Chambers was the captain of a British team that toured South Africa.
